Assembly Technician I

The Assembly Technician I is a key member of Avail’s Production department, a hardworking and collaborative team responsible for labeling, assembling, testing, and kitting hardware for customer deployment. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in working with their hands, shows initiative, and is committed to learning and growing within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
The Assembly Technician I must be able to logically piece together components with limited instructions, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and maintain a high level of quality in all builds. Responsibilities include assembling and testing production parts, building and terminating cables, and using standard hand and assembly tools effectively. A basic ability to read and follow CAD drawings is required.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Assemble electrical system cables with accuracy and care, demonstrating strong hands-on skills and attention to detail
  • Build and test sub-assemblies by using hand tools, reading CAD documentation, and following structured processes while asking questions and learning when instructions are limited
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and testing to ensure products meet quality standards before moving to the next stage of production
  • Follow Bills of Material (BOMs) to create vehicle-specific kits that support onsite installation teams, contributing to overall project success
  • Upload software to hardware components and conduct quality checks to confirm equipment is deployment-ready for field teams
  • Support shipping and receiving activities, assisting with incoming goods and preparing outgoing equipment for customer delivery
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, demonstrating pride in craftsmanship and respect for team spaces
  • Complete tasks within scheduled timeframes while maintaining a high standard of quality through hard work, focus, and consistency
  • Contribute to improving team processes, sharing ideas, participating in problem-solving, and supporting a culture of continuous learning, teamwork, and personal development

Educational Requirements:
