Avail Technologies, Inc. Acquires Fleet-Net® Corporation to Deliver Total Enterprise ITS Solutions

Representatives from Avail Technologies, Inc. and Fleet-Net® Corporation announced this week that they have finalized a deal outlining Avail’s acquisition of Fleet-Net® effective October 1, 2017.

Avail Technologies is a leading CAD/AVL provider serving the public transit industry.  With more than eighteen (18) years of experience partnering with nearly fifty (50) transit agencies across the United States, Avail delivers smart, reliable, and convenient ITS solutions through its flagship products the role-based myAvail software platform and the myStop® real-time passenger information app.  With the acquisition of Fleet-Net, Avail transitions from a CAD/AVL ITS integrator to a total enterprise solutions provider.  Avail will focus on providing ITS solutions that not only enhance public transit riders’ experiences, but also enhance overall operations at agencies through increased efficiency in departments across the entire organization.  Avail will maintain its headquarters in State College, PA with a satellite location in Las Vegas, NV and a distributed workforce located in California, Florida, and Texas.

Avail Technologies Named 2016 Best Place to Work in PA

Avail Technologies, Inc., has been named one of the Best Places to Work in PA for 2016. The awards program, created in 2000, is one of the first statewide programs of its kind in the country. The program is a public/private partnership between Team Pennsylvania Foundation, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the Pennsylvania State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management, and the Central Penn Business Journal.

Catching an RRTA Bus Will Soon Be as Easy as Checking Your Phone

By the end of the year, the Red Rose Transit Authority will have a smartphone application available that will allow users to track buses.RRTA

With a check of their phones, riders will be able to check when the next bus will arrive, if it has been delayed, or been detoured due to a traffic accident of roadwork.

Camera Project on Gwinnett Transit Buses Nearly Complete

GWINNET-COUNTYCommissioners signed off earlier this week on changes to a contract with Avail Technologies, who is already installing mobile data communications and GPS technology on the Gwinnett Transit fleet, to also install video surveillance cameras on its buses.  These cameras help to provide a safer more secure travel experience for Gwinnett's ridership.

AVTA to Install Real Time Tracking System

Focused on improving customer service, the Antelope Valley Tranist Authority voted unanimously to award Avail Technologies, Inc. with the contract for an implementation of an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) that will provide passengers with real time information.  Once complete the IT System will enable residents of Antelope Valley to gather bus location information via mobile and web-based devices.

The modern public transport bus is more than what you might remember.  There's still a driver, money box, seats, and a couple of doors, but there are also digital signs on the outside that change depending upon the daily route, electronic audible location annunciators calling out stops, digital passive passenger counters, and security systems designed to protect passengers and the driver.

Santa Rosa Bus Services Start Online Tracking System

City-BusSanta Rosa City Bus is equipping its fleet of 37 buses with a new system that uses predictive algorithims to update timetables for all of its buses and then send out alerts to passengers.   Riders can also subscribe to information about specific routes that they might use as part of their regular commute.  The system, provided by Avail Technologies, Inc. will help City Bus increase efficiency and better track ridership.

Montebello Bus Lines Announces New Passenger Information System

MontebelloBeginning this Fall Montebello Bus riders will be able to obtain real-time passenger information via their mobile phone and through web based applications.  MBL will install 66 buses, supervisor vehicles, and operational facilities with the new system provided by Avail Technologies, Inc., a Pennsylvania based company.

Schuylkill Transportation System to Track Entire Fleet with New Technology

The county run Schuylkill Transportation System wants to help riders determine if their bus is on time.  STS hired Avail Technologies, Inc. to install mobile data terminals equipped with GPS on its 14 fixed-route buses.  As part of the project Avail, also installed Automatic Passenger Counters that it hope will help with long-range planning as the organization grows.

Palm Tran Introduces Online Real-Time Tools for Passengers

Palm Tran has partnered with Avail Technologies to provide two new tools for passengers to use while planning their trip on the Palm Tran system.  Driven by GIS/GPS technology, riders will be able to organize their trips using the Google Transit Trip Planner.  Riders will also be able to take advantage of real-time bus locating powered by Avail's progressive InfoPoint technology.
